Greetings! I hope you are all having a lovely November so far. For those participating in NaNoWriMo and Huevember, I hope this has also been a very creative past week for you.
If you are interested in seeing my Early Huevember attempt, the page for the full series can be found at the following link:
For this past week, I have had a rather productive time. Today marks the end of the first week of NaNoWriMo, and I am at about 12,000 words (about a day ahead of schedule). I’d like to be a bit further along but I cannot complain about the way things are going. I am making fantastic progress on Book 11. I’m at about 30,000 words for the book so far, out of a rough total of about 75,000 words (based on how the drafts when for the last few books). Things are certainly starting to fall into place, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of this progresses. I still think I’m in pretty good shape for finishing Book 11 and starting Book 12 during NaNo. I did get a little bit of plotting done for Book 12, but I think some of the bigger things are going to have to wait until I figure out how exactly some aspects of Book 11 play out.
Huevember has also been going well. I think my preparations last month are streamlining things a good bit. So far I have painted seven of the thirty paintings, and I’m feeling pretty good about how all of that is going. I plan to post about the first handful on this website in the next day or so. If you want to see them as they are being finished, I post each day on my Twitter, which can be found here.
Reading for this week has still been a bit light, particularly given both NaNo and Huevember. I am still slowly making my way through Michael R. Miller’s Unbound. I am enjoying it so far.
My “100 Day Gaeilge Challenge” is coming to an end, and it doesn’t feel like it should be over this soon. I’m on day 97, so I’ve only got a few days left until I reach 100 days. It’s definitely been nice getting back into learning the language, and I’m looking forward to continue progressing. I can say that I’ve learned a good bit over the last three months. I am pleased with how this has gone. Finding the challenge on Twitter seemed to be just the thing to kickstart my language journey again.
This upcoming week is likely to be similar to this past week. I’ve got a lot of writing to do for NaNoWriMo as I continue drafting Book 11, and I have a lot of painting to do for Huevember. I would also like to continue plotting Book 12 as certain things become clear for Book 11. Other than that, I plan to continue reading Unbound, and I plan to finish out my Irish lessons in a good spot.
If you would like to add me as a writing buddy on the NaNoWriMo website, my name on the site is fantasy_writer42, and you can find my profile here.
I think that’s everything for this update! Thanks for reading!
