Hello! I hope you are all doing well this week.
We are currently in the final days of Camp NaNoWriMo. I am at about 20,000 words of my 50,000 word goal. I have certainly faced worse odds before, but I am also prepared to shift that goal as needed (particularly since Camp NaNo allows the option to change your goal anytime during the month).
That said, I have definitely made a good bit of progress this month, including finishing the first draft of book 8 of my series (the first part of which was written during NaNoWriMo proper in November 2020). I have also gotten about 7,000 words into book 9. That one has been a bit surprising so far, in that I was not expecting the first couple chapters to take the form they did. However, given how book 8 ended, I probably should not have been too surprised at what the aftermath would be. Possibly the more important part of what I’ve been doing with book 9 this week, though, is that I have been able to rework the in-world timeline a bit to help things line up appropriately with where the end of the book is go.
Due to the reworking of the timeline, I’m thinking that with the right time management and motivation, I should be able to get some words down fairly quickly. I’m also going to continue the hunt for information on starting a publishing company, and I’m planning to do a bit more on the reading/painting fronts, particularly with Camp NaNo ending on Friday.
I think that about sums things up for this update. Thanks for reading!
