Greetings! And welcome to the last week of April.
With one week left in this month’s Camp NaNoWriMo, I am making some good progress on the current draft. I am considering changing my goal for the month, but I can’t complain. I’ve also gotten some reading done, and I’ve knitted a bit. All in all, it’s been a pretty good week.
My draft of Book 11 is coming along nicely, if a bit slower than I would prefer. I’m actually working on a chapter that I didn’t anticipate when I was creating the outline/timeline, so I’m currently in the process of figuring out the best way to set this chapter up. As such, I’m not necessarily getting many words on the page, but I am getting some good story development. Other than the drafting, I’ve also been reworking the outline a bit, as you might have guessed. There is still most of a week left for Camp NaNoWriMo, so I’m hoping to get some good words down between now and the end of Camp. I am a good bit behind my original goal, but once I get past this current section, I think things will pick up rather nicely.
With regard to reading, I am making some good progress on Brandon Sanderson’s The Well of Ascension. So far, it is going well. I’m coming up on halfway through the book. It is definitely a different tone from the Skyward series, and I think that is part of why the reading isn’t going quite so quickly. That said, there seem to be quite a few factors that play into how quickly I read a particular book. I am certainly looking forward to seeing how this goes.
The plan for this week is similar to my plan for this past week. I will continue drafting Book 11, hopefully with a strong finish for this session of Camp NaNoWriMo. Finishing Camp will likely be my main focus for this upcoming week. I will also continue reading The Well of Ascension. As of right now, I’m not sure which book I’ll read next, but I have no shortage of options.
If anyone is interested in adding me as a writing buddy for Camp NaNo, my username is fantasy_writer42, and my profile can be found here.
That’s all for this update! Thanks for reading!
