Greetings! I hope y’all are doing well. For those of you participating in NaNoWriMo and Huevember, we’re now three weeks into the challenges. I hope y’all are having very creative months so far.
Like the previous weeks, this past week has been rather busy. This third week of NaNo, I’ve written about 13,000 words. I’m about 4 days of each other, and I have about 40,000 words for NaNo so far. I’d like to get a bit further ahead since my unofficial goal is about 70,000 words total for the month, but so far, I am pleased with my progress. At this point, I’m thinking this draft might be longer than my projected 75,000 words, but it’s hard to say how things will end up. Currently, I am working on a section of Book 11 that I’ve been looking forward to for quite some time. There are some great things happening, and I’m getting to see quite a few character interactions I’ve been waiting for for a while. I still plan to finish Book 11 during November, and I plan to start Book 12, too… The timing on that is just a bit flexible at the moment.
I am enjoying Huevember so far. Since I streamlined things a bit by only having one main figure, and trying to stick to a shorter time limit (for the most part), my Huevember paintings are a bit different from the scenes I was frequently creating for my Early Huevember attempt earlier this year. That said, I think things are going well. I even have some loose plans to do some group shots of assorted characters in the paintings. I’m currently planning at least one group shot for my elemental figures and one for my dragons. I’ll have to see how things go for the rest of the month as far as other group compositions I want to try. If you would like to see my Huevember paintings as they are being finished, you can find them on my Twitter by clicking this link.
Reading for this week has been a continuation of Michael R. Miller’s Unbound, book 2 of his Songs of Chaos series. I have not gotten too far with it, what with working on two challenges this month, but I am enjoying it so far. I did manage to make a bit more progress with it over this past week, so I’m thinking this upcoming week will be similar.
This upcoming week will likely be even busier than the previous weeks. I will still be writing more of Book 11 for NaNoWriMo and painting for Huevember. In addition to that, I plan to plot a bit more of Book 12, and I would like to read more of Unbound. That part is fairly similar to this past week. However, I will also be spending time with family for the holiday at the end of the week (for Thanksgiving), so timing will be a bit interesting at points.
If you would like to add me as a writing buddy on the NaNoWriMo website, my name on the site is fantasy_writer42, and you can find my profile here.
I think that’s everything I have for this update! Thanks for reading!
