Update: Week of 18 Apr 2022

Hello! I hope y’all are doing well!

We are officially halfway through this month’s session of Camp NaNoWriMo. This past week didn’t go quite as well as I was hoping, but I did still get a good bit of writing done. I also managed to read a good bit, which is definitely nice. I even got to visit with some family over the weekend, so it’s been pretty good all around.

So, writing for this week has mostly been working on the first chapter of Book 11. I have almost finished that chapter, and I am currently tweaking the outline/timeline for what will be happening in the next few chapters. I am a few days behind as far as word count for my Camp NaNo goal for the month (50,000 words), but I should be able to catch up over the remaining almost two weeks. And if not, I can always adjust my goal. I should have a better idea of how things are looking by this time next week. I do have a bit more refining I’d like to do with the outline/timeline, but generally that doesn’t happen until I get closer to that spot in the outline/timeline.

Reading for this week involved finishing Brandon Sanderson’s Cytonic as well as the final accompanying novella, Evershore by Sanderson and Janci Patterson. I’ve got to say that I am rather pleased with how the series is shaping up. There is one more book that should be out sometime in 2023, and I eagerly await it. Other than that, I’ve also started reading the second Mistborn book, The Well of Ascension.

This week, I will be continuing my draft of Book 11. I will also be working on some broad strokes for the outline/timeline of Book 12. I will also be continuing to read The Well of Ascension. If all goes well with that, I might have other books I read, but we will see how the week goes.

If anyone is interested in adding me as a writing buddy for Camp NaNo, my username is fantasy_writer42, and my profile can be found here.

That’s all for this update! Thanks for reading!
