Hello, everyone! It’s hard to believe we are halfway through November. Between NaNoWriMo and Huevember, I have definitely been keeping busy. I hope those of you who are participating in either (or both) of those are enjoying lots of creativity.
This past week has been a bit of a whirlwind. Two weeks into NaNoWriMo, I’m about three days ahead of schedule with 26,000 words so far. I should be able to increase that lead, though I’d like to be able to get a really good day or two to give me the boost I need to finish the current book (Book 11) and start the final book of my series (Book 12) this month. Book 11 is currently at about 44,000 words. I’m estimating I need another 30,000 words to finish it, for which I’m in pretty good shape at the moment. I’m also starting to get to some of the chapters I’ve been looking forward to for about a year, so I’m excited about that.
Huevember is still going rather well. There have been a few paintings that took a bit longer than I planned, but overall, my preparations seem to be coming in handy. I mentioned in last week’s update that I planned to post a blog post with the first handful of paintings. That is still on the list, but it’s taking a bit longer to get to that one. I now plan to have two blog posts up in the next week or so. I am posting the Huevember paintings on Twitter each day, so if you want to see them as they are being finished, you can find them here.
I have not been spending much time reading this week since a good bit of my creative energy has been going to NaNo and Huevember. I am still slowly reading Michael R. Miller’s Unbound. I’m hoping to shift a few things around schedule-wise to open up a bit more reading time this week. We’ll see how that goes.
My “100 Day Gaeilge Challenge” is officially over, though I’m still working on Irish lessons a little bit every day.
This upcoming week promises to be busy, if the previous two weeks are any indication. I will be writing a lot for NaNoWriMo as I draft Book 11, and I will be painting a lot for Huevember. Beyond those, I’m still slowly plotting Book 12. I suspect I will get far enough in this current book this week to be able to make some progress with plotting the next one. Other than that, I plan to continue reading Unbound.
