Hello, everyone! With the holiday season officially upon us, I hope all of your preparations and festivities are going well.
This past week has been mostly assorted preparations for holiday stuff as well as trying to figure out a workable schedule for all of my assorted activities. I’ve done a bit of writing and art, though it is at a greatly reduced rate from NaNo. I’ve also done a bit of reading. In addition to those, I’ve also been trying to get back into the habit of exercising. If nothing else, the riding the exercise bike gives me a nice chunk of time to catch up on some art streams and such that got put on the back burner during November.
I am still working on the first draft of Book 11. Overall, it is going well. I’ve managed to write something most days out of the past week, so I can’t complain too much. I’m currently thinking I have another 20,000 words to go before I finish this draft, but I will know more as I get closer to the end. I have also spent a bit of time pondering Book 12. I think I’m slowly figuring out a few things for that book. There are still a few details for Book 12 I will need to figure out after I finish Book 11, but I’m pleased with the progress I’ve been making so far. I would still like to finish the draft of Book 11 this month, but I will have to see how things go. It is definitely still in the realm of the possible.
With the end of Huvember, I started thinking about what I would like to focus on next for my art. As I mentioned in last week’s update, I’m leaning more toward working on sketching, since I want to draw my characters. I did make a bit of progress on that this week, though I’m still looking into some assorted tutorials. I’m hoping to do a bit more with that this week.
Reading has been a bit light this week. I’ve put aside Michael R Miller’s Unbound (mostly because my Kindle Unlimited free trial ended), but I do intend to pick it up again at a later date. I did continue reading Brandon Sanderson’s Oathbringer, book 3 of The Stormlight Archive. I didn’t make much progress this week, but overall I am about 250 pages in (out of 1300 pages). I’m curious to see where this one goes.
This upcoming week will be a bit interesting. As I mentioned earlier, I plan to refine my schedule, so we’ll see how that goes. At the very least, I’d like to get into a routine of doing a bit of writing, a bit of art, and a bit of reading everyday. I’m planning to continue drafting Book 11, and I still intend to put together a review of NaNoWriMo 2022. I still plan to draft some posts for my Huevember paintings, and I would like to create a bit more art as well. Other than that, I’ve got Oathbringer which will likely carry me through the rest of this week and into the next. Later this week, timing might be tricky due to some holiday stuff. That said, things should work out fairly well.
NaNoWriMo is now over (although there is Camp NaNoWriMo coming up in April). Feel free to add me as a writing buddy on the NaNoWriMo website. My name on the site is fantasy_writer42, and you can find my profile here.
That seems to be everything for this update! As always, thanks for reading!
