Embroidery: Dual Hearts (part 1)

The current pattern I am working on is a pair of hearts, which can be found here. It initially started out with the heart I have embroidered above. The creator also included an updated pattern using some additional stitches. The patterns are sized individually for a five inch hoop.

What I did instead was flipped one of the hearts to make them both fit into an eight inch hoop. I think this gives an interesting effect, and I’m still trying to figure out what I should put into the top right and bottom left ‘corners.’ I’ve got a bit of work to do with figuring out how to do satin stitch, but I did get a bit of practice in with this project. I also got my first chance of doing the fishbone stitch.

As for the other half of this, I’m planning on doing a bit different with regard to colors but still keeping the colors connected in some fashion. It’ll be a couple weeks before I can get back to it, but I’m looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

How are your projects (embroidery or otherwise) going? I’d love to hear from you!
