Update: Week of 28 Mar 2022

Hello, everyone! I hope this finds you well!

This past week has been rather productive. I’m about two chapters away from finishing the draft of Book 10, and I have been continuing my preparations for the start of Camp NaNoWriMo on 1 Apr. I’ve also done a good bit of reading. I’m also making progress on my greyscale-and-rainbow scarf, though it’s too early to say if I’ll finish that this week or not.

At least as far as my outline/timeline is concerned, I have about two chapters to go. I suspect it will probably get broken into more than two as I go through the revision process. I’m pretty sure I already know where the breaks would be, so that should be easy enough to arrange. So, the end of this book is going well. I do still have some plotting to do for Book 11 before the start of Camp NaNo. As it currently stands, I’m making progress on the outline/timeline for Book 11 and Book 12, which will wrap up the current series. I’m thinking I’m in a pretty good spot to start Book 11 for Camp NaNo, though I may have to use a little bit of the month to wrap up Book 10.

With regard to reading, I have finished Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn. It actually ended a bit differently than I expected (not that I had a specific ending in mind), but overall, it was good. I’m looking forward to starting the sequel, The Well of Ascension. I also read Vol. 3 through Vol. 7 of the “Collector’s Edition” of Fruits Basket, so I’m currently a little over halfway through the series. As it is, i am waiting to get more of the volumes, but I should have some more later this week. So far, that is also going a direction I didn’t really anticipate when I started all of this, but it is definitely interesting to see how things are tying together.

So, my plan for this week mostly involves drafting Book 10, finishing up any preparations for Camp NaNo, and then starting Camp NaNo come Friday. Overall, I think that should go well. I’m getting really close to finishing the draft of Book 10, and from there I should be able to lead straight into Book 11. I’m also thinking that I will likely have the beginning and end of the outline/timeline mostly complete, along with a few connecting details before I start working on Book 11, but the rest of it will probably be getting filled in as I get closer to that part of the story. Other than that, I suspect I will be reading Brandon Sanderson’s The Well of Ascension this week, and I will probably be continuing Fruits Basket once I get more of them.

If anyone is interested in adding me as a writing buddy for Camp NaNo, my username is fantasy_writer42, and my profile can be found here.

I think that’s everything for this update! As always, thanks for reading!

~ Theresa
