Greetings! I hope y’all are doing well!
Writing, plotting, and reading all went well this past week, and my preparations for Camp NaNoWriMo are progressing nicely. I’ve also made some progress with the greyscale-and-rainbow scarf I’ve been working on for the past while. I also enjoyed some corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick’s Day (and even had some leftovers).
I am now three chapters away from the end of Book 10 (at least as far as the outline is concerned… I suspect the last handful of chapters will actually get split into smaller chapters, but that will wait until I finish drafting it, I think). I definitely have some interesting things coming up for the end of this book, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it actually shows up on the page. Other than that, I’ve been plotting Book 11 and Book 12. I still have a bit to go to get that ready for drafting, but I should be able to get things organized enough to be able to start Book 11 for Camp NaNo. I also have a couple different ideas for songs now, though I haven’t actually drafted any since FAWM ended.
For reading, I am making progress on Garth Nix’s The Left-Handed Booksellers of London. I’m about halfway through that one. I’m also about two-thirds of the way through Brandon Sanderson’s Mistborn. Mistborn is definitely interesting so far. I’m definitley getting some Warbreaker-vibes from it, but then I also got some Warbreaker-vibes from Elantris. The magic system is definitely interesting, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the story continues. This is also the first book in a series that has several sequels (divided into two Eras), so I’m curious to see how things progress. I also found out that an omnibus I was gifted a while back, Arcanum Unbounded, actually contains several stories and novellas that accompany different novels in Sanderson’s Cosmere, so I’m looking forward to reading those, too.
This week, I plan to continue drafting Book 10. I’m still thinking I’m in good shape to be able to start Book 11 for Camp NaNo, and depending on how these last few chapters of Book 10 go, I might actually be able to start Book 11 a little early. As such, I’m planning to do some more plotting with Book 11 and Book 12. My reading plans involve finishing Mistborn and likely reading some of the stuff in Arcanum Unbounded (It conveniently notes which stories have spoilers for which novels, so that’s nice). Other than that I’ve got my scarf that I’m working on, and I’m about a foot-and-a-half from finishing that.
