Greetings! I hope everyone’s March is going well.
I am fairly pleased with how this past week went. I got some writing, some plotting, and some reading done. In addition to that, I completed the challenge that is February Album Writing Month (FAWM) and I’m gearing up for April’s session of Camp National Novel Writing Month (Camp NaNoWriMo). I even got to knit a bit. All in all, I can’t complain too much.
I have made some progress with Book 10. I’m working on the chapter I was working on last week, and I should have that finished shortly. i also figured out a couple key things for a couple chapters from now, so I’m really excited that those have fallen into place. I’m definitely on track to finish Book 10 in time to start Book 11 for April’s session of Camp NaNoWriMo. As such, I’ve also made progress with regard to plotting Book 11. The outline/timeline is coming along nicely for that.
With regard to reading, I finished Jeff Wheeler’s The Queen’s Poisoner, and I am looking forward to seeing where the rest of the series goes. I’ve also started reading Garth Nix’s The Left-Handed Booksellers of London and Brandon Sanderson’s Elantris. I know I really enjoyed Sanderson’s Warbreaker, and I’ve been wanting to read more of his stuff since then.
My first FAWM was a success, in more ways than one. I managed to write the fourteen songs that were the primary goal. The final song I wrote for the month actually had to do specifically with one of my characters. (Nothing like a good ballad to make sure someone is known throughout the land!) I also managed to get some really good worldbuilding done throughout this process. I am definitely curious to see what else might come up as I look into this side of things.
For this upcoming week, I have a few goals. I plan to finish the current chapter of Book 10 and plot more of Book 11. As for reading, I’d like to make some progress with Elantris and The Left-Handed Booksellers of London. I also have Vol. 2 of the “Collector’s Edition” of Fruits Basket, so I will likely start reading that this week, too. Other than that, I’ve got a few projects I’m probably going to work on, such as getting back to my knitting that was sitting most of February…
If anyone is interested in adding me as a writing buddy for Camp NaNo, my username is fantasy_writer42, and my profile can be found here.
That’s everything for now! Thanks for reading!
