Update: Week of 28 Jun 2021

Hello! I hope this past week has treated you well!

This first part of this past week was fairly productive for me. I did have some stuff come up in the latter part of the week that made it difficult get much else done, but since most of that seems to be resolved, I’m thinking things should be fairly good for this week.

I was able to get some good writing done, and I have a pretty good idea of where this draft will go between now and the end. Although the word count was not where it needed to be to finish the draft of Book 9 before the start of Camp NaNoWriMo on July 1st, I am feeling fairly confident about bringing the rest of this draft into Camp NaNo. I’m really excited about some of the things that are coming up for this draft. I am also excited about what is coming up for the final arc of the series, though I still need to put that outline/timeline together. I suspect I will start piecing it together later this week.

As for reading, I have been making my way through Stephen King’s On Writing. I have just finished the section that contains little snippets from his life leading up to drafting On Writing. There is definitely something interesting about getting that kind glimpse into someone’s life. I am curious to see what he will say about the craft. I will be starting that section this week.

For this week, I’m planning to write a bit more of Book 9 in the couple days leading up to Camp NaNo. Then things should go into full swing. I’m planning to write 50k in the month of July. It should be doable, but at the same time, I do understand that things could make that a bit less feasible. Still, there is nothing wrong with aiming big. Goals can be adjusted as needed. Other than that, I’d like to read a bit more. I am still slowly working my way through Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote and Alexandre Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo, as well as continuing On Writing.

If anyone is interested in becoming writing buddies for Camp NaNoWriMo, my username on the site is fantasy_writer42, and you can find my profile here. I am always glad to meet fellow Wrimos.

Good luck to anyone participating in Camp NaNo, and good luck for any other projects (writing or otherwise) that you are working on.

As always, thanks for reading!
