Update: Week of 17 May 2021

Greetings! I hope you all are having a lovely May.

This past week has been a bit interesting for me. I did get a bit of writing done; so far, Book 9 is progressing fairly nicely. I also did a bit more reading than I’ve done in recent times, so that’s kind of nice. With regard to painting, if you are interested, you can take a look at My Rendition of Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”.

So, I am still working through a couple rough patches with Book 9, mostly having to do with figuring out a few things with the outline/timeline. I have still been doing my part as a member of the “one sentence a day” club, and most days I’ve been getting at least a bit more than that. I intend to focus a bit more on writing in this coming week. Admittedly, this past week turned into a week more focused on reading.

Speaking of reading, I finished the book I was reading last week, Sundered by Bethany Adams. I also read Exiled, the 90-page novella that goes between the second and third novels of the series. In addition to that, I am currently working my way through the next book, called Seared. Now, there were a couple spots in Sundered, that definitely had more of a romance-novel feel, and when I decided look at the author’s website, she does say that she considers the series to be “fantasy romance.” Overall, i do still like the series, though the more romance-novel parts do catch me off guard when they show up. It’s not something I’m used to seeing in the fantasy I tend to read. I’m definitely reading it more for the characters, story, and magic system than anything else.

Now, as far as this following week goes, in addition to writing more, I do plan to continue reading the last book I currently have for Adams’ Return of the Elves series. There is another boxset after this book, so I might give that a shot. I figure I will see how the rest of this book goes. Other than that, I’d like to continue looking into creating a publishing company, and I’d like to do a bit more painting. That said, as this week unfolds, it may have other plans for me. I suppose I will have to see how things shape up.

I think that’s about it for this update. Thanks for reading!
