Hello!
So, most of this past week went toward finishing up Camp NaNoWriMo, which ended Friday. For anyone who is interested, you can read my post reviewing how Camp NaNo went for me here. Overall, I am pleased with how the month went.
Beyond Camp NaNo, I have done a bit more writing on my project. The first draft of book 9 is at about 10,000. That leaves me with about 40,000 words to go, but I intend to finish that sometime this month. So far, it seems to be going well. Readjusting the outline/timeline near the end of April did seem to help a good bit.
I have also started reading the sequel to the last book I was reading. This one is called Sundered, and it is book 2 of The Return of the Elves series by Bethany Adams. So far the book seems to be going well. It’s nice being able to learn more about the characters, which is largely why I default to series. It also seems like we are getting to know more about the larger world. The first book largely dealt with the Moranian Elves, the Sidhe, and a smidge of Earth. This book seems to be bringing in different varieties of Elves, which appear to be based on the different traditions we have in assorted mythologies. There are also hidden agendas that seem to be a result of things that were hinted at in the first book, so I am curious to see how things turn out.
The plan for this week is to continue working on my draft of book 9, and to continue reading the current novel. Other than that, I plan to continue working on my digital painting of Starry Night. I’m thinking I should be able to make a good bit of progress with that this week. I am also continuing my research into self-publishing and creating a publishing company. All in all, I think it should be a pretty good week.
Thanks for reading!
~ Theresa
